Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Device”
  3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
  4. Enable “Battery saver”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left form the quick toggle area
  3. Open “Settings”
  4. Access “Display” and optionally turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
  5. For timeout options, tap “Sleep’ and select a lower value

Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  2. Go to “Device”
  3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
  4. Enable “Battery saver”

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity Off when not in use, including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. In the quick toggle area, tap the “Wi-Fi” “Location” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to turn the features Off
  3. Open “Settings” for more options
  4. Go to “Location” for GPS options, tap “Mode” and select “Battery saving”
  5. Return to “Settings” and expand “Wireless & Networks”
  6. Disable “Tethering & Mobile Hotspot”

Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Wireless & Networks”
  3. Tap “mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
  4. Enable “2G”

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third-party apps on the device, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access” Apps” and switch to “Downloaded” or “All apps”
  3. Select the desired app and tap “Disable” or “Force stop”
  4. Alternatively, tap “Uninstall” to remove the app from the phone

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You might be able to improve battery life by reducing the amount of data synced by your apps and accounts.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type and the desired account
  4. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “About phone” > “System updates”
  3. Check if new updates are available for download
  4. If applicable, follow the prompts to download and apply available updates
