Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Device” and tap “Battery”
  3. Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saver”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. Launch “Settings”
  4. Go to “Display” and optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
  5. For timeout options, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features Off when not actively in use, including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Hotspot, and GPS, to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. From the quick toggle area, tap “Bluetooth” “Wi-Fi” and “Location” quick toggles to turn the features Off
  3. Open “Settings” and go to “Location” for GPS settings
  4. Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saving”
  5. Go back to “Settings” and expand “Wireless & Networks”
  6. Turn “Tethering & Mobile hotspot” Off

Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by switching to 2G networks temporarily.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Wireless & Networks”
  3. Tap “Mobile networks”
  4. Go to “Preferred network type” and enable “2G”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can potentially improve battery life by reducing the amount of data synced by your accounts.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Accounts”
  3. Tap the desired account type and select an account
  4. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By removing or disabling unused third-party apps, you might improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Apps” and switch to “Downloaded” or “All apps”
  3. Select the desired app
  4. To disable the app, tap “Disable” / “Force stop”
  5. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and as such, it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “About phone” > “System updates”
  3. Check if new updates are available for download
  4. If applicable, follow the prompts to download and apply the updates
