Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Open Settings
- Access Personal
- Tap Backup & Reset
- Enable Back up my data to back up app data, settings, and network passwords to your backup account
- Enable Automatic Restore to allow app data, settings, and network passwords to be restored automatically when logging in with the backup account or reinstalling apps
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Launch Settings
- Go to Accounts and select an account type
- Tap the desired account and ensure Contacts is checked
- Tap Menu > Sync Now
NOTE: Contacts can be restored automatically the next time you log in with the backup account or by manually syncing the account data, including contacts, with the phone.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the PC via USB
- On the phone, enable Media device / File transfer when prompted or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the PC
- Locate the media files on the phone
- Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the computer
- Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the PC via USB
- On the phone, enable File Transfer / Media device at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Navigate to the media backup files on the PC
- Transfer the files to the phone storage in the folders of origin
- Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
