Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
- Drag the brightness slider towards the left
- Open Settings and go to Display
- Optionally, enable or disable Adaptive brightness
- For timeout options, access Sleep and select a lower value
Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Open Settings
- Access Device
- Tap Battery > Menu
- Enable Battery saver
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: You can disable the phones connectivity features when not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- In the quick toggle area, tap Wi-Fi Bluetooth and Location quick toggles to disable the features
- Open Settings and access Location for GPS settings
- Tap menu and enable Battery saving
- Return to Settings and expand Wireless & Networks
- Disable Tethering & Mobile hotspot
Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:
NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you dont have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.
- Open Settings
- Access Wireless & Networks > Mobile networks
- Go to Preferred network type
- Enable 2G
Minimize Third-Party App Usage:
NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the phones battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third-party apps, you might improve battery life in the long run.
- Open Settings and access Apps
- Switch to All apps or Downloaded
- Select the desired app
- To turn the app off, tap Force Stop / Disable
- To remove the app, tap uninstall
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: You might improve battery life in the long run by reducing the amount of data synced by your accounts.
- Open Settings
- Access Accounts
- Select the desired account type and account
- Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired
Keep the OS Updated:
NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and thus its recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.
- Launch Settings
- Go to About phone > System updates
- Check if new updates are available
- If so, follow the prompts to download and apply the updates
