Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. Open “Settings” and go to “Display”
  4. Optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
  5. For timeout options, access “Sleep” and select a lower value

Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Device”
  3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
  4. Enable “Battery saver”

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. In the quick toggle area, tap “Wi-Fi” “Bluetooth” and “Location” quick toggles to disable the features
  3. Open “Settings” and access “Location” for GPS settings

  5. Return to “Settings” and expand “Wireless & Networks”
  6. Disable “Tethering & Mobile hotspot”

Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Wireless & Networks” > “Mobile networks”
  3. Go to “Preferred network type”
  4. Enable “2G”

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third-party apps, you might improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open “Settings” and access “Apps”
  2. Switch to “All apps” or “Downloaded”
  3. Select the desired app
  4. To turn the app off, tap “Force Stop” / “Disable”
  5. To remove the app, tap “uninstall”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You might improve battery life in the long run by reducing the amount of data synced by your accounts.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Accounts”
  3. Select the desired account type and account
  4. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “About phone” > “System updates”
  3. Check if new updates are available
  4. If so, follow the prompts to download and apply the updates
