Back Up & Restore App Data:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Personal” and tap “Backup & Reset”
  3. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your account
  4. Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data to be restored automatically the next time you log in with the backup account or when reinstalling applications

Back Up & Restore Contacts:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Accounts” and select an account type
  3. Tap the desired account and check “Contacts” if needed
  4. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

NOTE: Contacts can be restored automatically the next time you sign in with the backup account or by manually syncing the account data with the device.

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Android phone to the PC via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” on the phone, at the prompt or from the Notification area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media files on the phone
  5. Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the computer
  6. Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord

Restore Media Files from a PC:

  1. Connect the Android phone to the PC via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File transfer” on the phone, when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media backup files on the computer
  5. Copy and transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders of origin
  6. Once the transfer completes, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
