Clear App Cache or Data:
NOTE: If an app causes problems or doesnt work as intended, you can try fixing these problems by clearing the app cache or data. WARNING! When you clear an apps data, all of your personal data stored within the app will be deleted, including login details, custom settings, payment information, save files etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app cache.
- On the home screen, swipe up from the bottom
- Open Settings
- Go to Apps & Notifications
- Switch to All apps
- Select the desired app and tap Storage > Clear cache
- If clear the app cache didnt solve the issues, tap Clear data (check the WARNING above)
Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset the Device:
NOTE: Before factory resetting your phone, ensure you have backed up all of your personal data or it will be lost following the reset.
- Open Settings
- Access System > Reset options
- To reset network settings, tap Reset Wi-Fi, Mobile & Bluetooth
- Tap Reset settings two times to confirm
- To clear app settings, tap Reset app preferences > Reset apps
- To reset the phone to factory values, tap Erase all data (factory reset) > Reset phone
- Tap Erase everything to confirm
Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an App:
NOTE: If a third-party app causes problems and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to remove the app while in Safe Mode, where all third-party apps are disabled by default. To reboot to Safe Mode and uninstall an app:
- Press and hold Power
- From the power management pop-up, tap and hold Power off
- Once the phone reboots, a Safe Mode watermark should be shown in the lower area of the home screen
- To uninstall an app, first open Settings
- Go to Apps & Notifications
- Switch to All apps if necessary
- Select the desired app, and tap Uninstall > OK
- To exit Safe Mode, reboot the device by pressing and holding Power and then selecting Restart from the power management pop-up
