Clear App Cache or Data:

NOTE: If an app causes issues or doesn’t work as intended, you can try solving these issues by clearing the app cache or data. WARNING! When you clear app data, all of your data stored within the app will be deleted. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app cache.

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
  2. Launch “Settings” and go to “Apps & Notifications”
  3. Switch to “All apps” and select the desired app
  4. Tap “Storage” > “Clear cache”
  5. If clearing the app cache didn’t solve the issues, tap “clear data” (check the Warning above)

Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset:

NOTE: Before you factory reset the device, make sure you’ve backed up all of your personal data.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “System” > “Reset options”
  3. To reset network settings, access “Reset Wi-Fi, Mobile & Bluetooth”
  4. Tap “reset settings” two times to confirm
  5. To reset app settings, tap “Reset app preferences”
  6. Tap “Reset apps” to confirm
  7. To reset the phone to factory values, tap “Erase all data (factory reset)” > “Reset phone”
  8. Tap “Erase everything”

Uninstall Apps from Safe Mode:

NOTE: If a third-party app causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to remove the app while in Safe Mode, where all third-party apps are disabled by default.

  1. Press and hold “Power” on the home screen
  2. In the power management pop-up, tap and hold “Power off”
  3. After the phone reboots, a “Safe Mode” watermark should be visible in the lower area of the home screen
  4. To remove an app, first launch “Settings” then go to “Apps & Notifications”
  5. Ensure you view “All apps”
  6. Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
  7. To exit Safe Mode, press and hold the “Power” key and tap “Restart” to reboot the phone normally
