Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: If an app causes problems or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing the issues by clearing the app’s cache or data. WARNING: when clearing the app’s data, all of your personal data stored within the app will be deleted. To avoid this, clear ONLY the app cache:

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
  2. Launch “Settings” and go to “Apps & Notifications”
  3. Ensure you view “All apps”
  4. Select the desired app and go to “Storage”
  5. Tap “Clear cache”
  6. If clearing the app cache didn’t fix the issues, tap “Clear data” (check the WARNING above)

Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset:

NOTE: Before factory resetting the device, make sure you back up all of your data.

  1. Open “Settings” and access “System”
  2. Tap “Reset options”
  3. To reset network settings, go to “Reset Wi-Fi, Mobile & Bluetooth”
  4. Tap “Reset settings” two times to confirm
  5. To reset app settings, tap “Reset app preferences” > “Reset apps”
  6. To factory reset the phone, tap “Erase all data (factory reset)” > “Reset phone” > “Erase Everything”

Uninstall Apps in Safe Mode:

NOTE: if a third-party app causes problems and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app while in Safe Mode where all third-party apps are disabled.

  1. Press and hold “Power”
  2. In the power management pop-up, tap and hold “Power off”
  3. Wait for the phone to finish rebooting the device. Once done, a “Safe Mode” watermark should be shown in the lower area of the home screen
  4. To uninstall an app, launch “Settings”
  5. Access “Apps & Notifications” and ensure you view “All apps”
  6. Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
  7. To exit Safe Mode, press and hold “Power” and tap “Restart”
