Clear App Cache/Data:
NOTE: If an app causes problems or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing the issues by clearing the apps cache or data. WARNING: when clearing the apps data, all of your personal data stored within the app will be deleted. To avoid this, clear ONLY the app cache:
- Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
- Launch Settings and go to Apps & Notifications
- Ensure you view All apps
- Select the desired app and go to Storage
- Tap Clear cache
- If clearing the app cache didnt fix the issues, tap Clear data (check the WARNING above)
Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset:
NOTE: Before factory resetting the device, make sure you back up all of your data.
- Open Settings and access System
- Tap Reset options
- To reset network settings, go to Reset Wi-Fi, Mobile & Bluetooth
- Tap Reset settings two times to confirm
- To reset app settings, tap Reset app preferences > Reset apps
- To factory reset the phone, tap Erase all data (factory reset) > Reset phone > Erase Everything
Uninstall Apps in Safe Mode:
NOTE: if a third-party app causes problems and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app while in Safe Mode where all third-party apps are disabled.
- Press and hold Power
- In the power management pop-up, tap and hold Power off
- Wait for the phone to finish rebooting the device. Once done, a Safe Mode watermark should be shown in the lower area of the home screen
- To uninstall an app, launch Settings
- Access Apps & Notifications and ensure you view All apps
- Select the desired app and tap Uninstall > OK
- To exit Safe Mode, press and hold Power and tap Restart
