Clear App Cache And/Or Data:

NOTE: If an app causes issues or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing the issues by clearing the app cache or data. WARNING: when clearing the app data, all of your personal data stored within the app will be deleted. To avoid this, clear ONLY the app cache:

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Go to “Apps & Notifications”
  4. Switch to “All apps” if necessary
  5. Select the desired app
  6. Go to “Storage” and tap “Clear cache”
  7. If clearing the app cache didn’t solve the issues, tap “Clear data” (check the Warning above)

Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset:

NOTE: Before factory resetting the device, ensure you back up all of your data.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “System”
  3. Tap “Reset options”
  4. To reset network settings, access “Reset Wi-Fi, Mobile & Bluetooth”
  5. Tap “Reset settings” two times to confirm
  6. To reset app settings, go to “Reset app preferences” > “reset apps”
  7. To factory reset the device, tap “Erase all data (factory reset)”
  8. Then tap “Reset phone” and “Erase Everything” to confirm

Boot to Safe Mode and Remove Third-Party Applications:

NOTE: In case a third-party app causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app while in Safe Mode. In this mode, all third-party apps are disabled by default.

  1. Press and hold “Power”
  2. From the power management pop-up, tap and hold “Power off”
  3. Wait for the phone to finish rebooting. Once done, you should see a “Safe Mode” watermark on the home screen
  4. To remove an app, open “Settings”
  5. Go to “Apps & Notifications”
  6. Switch to “All apps” if necessary
  7. Select the desired app
  8. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
  9. To exit Safe Mode, press and hold “Power” and then tap “Restart”
