Clear App Cache/Data:
NOTE: If an app causes problems or takes up more storage than it should, you can try fixing it by clearing the apps cache or data. WARNING: by clearing an apps data, all of your data stored within the app will be lost. This includes save files, custom settings, login information etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app cache:
- On the home screen, swipe up from the bottom
- Launch Settings and go to Apps & Notifications
- Switch to All apps if necessary
- Select the desired app and access Storage
- Tap Clear cache
- If clearing the app cache didnt fix the issues, tap Clear data
Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset:
NOTE: Before you factory reset the phone, make sure you back up all of your data.
- Launch Settings
- Access System > Reset options
- To reset network settings, go to Reset Wi-Fi Mobile & Bluetooth and tap Reset settings two times
- To reset app settings, tap Reset app preferences > Reset apps
- To Factory reset the phone, tap Erase all data (Factory reset) > Reset phone > Erase everything
Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove Third-Party Apps:
NOTE: If a third-party app causes problems and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to remove the app while in Safe Mode where all third-party apps are disabled by default.
- Press and hold Power
- In the power management pop-up, tap and hold Power off
- Wait for the device to finish rebooting
- Once done, a Safe Mode watermark should be visible in the lower area of the home screen
- To remove an app, launch Settings and go to Apps & Notifications
- Switch to All apps if needed and select the desired app
- Tap Uninstall > OK
- Now you can exit Safe Mode by rebooting your phone normally
