Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout:
- On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
- From the Notification area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
- Open Settings
- Go to Display
- Access Advanced for more options and tap Sleep
- Select a lower timeout value
Enable Battery Optimization:
- On the home screen, swipe up from the bottom
- Open Settings
- Go to Battery > Battery optimization
- Select an app to optimize it
- Optionally, tap Menu and enable Advanced optimization
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: You can disable the phones connectivity features when not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.
- Swipe the Status bar down
- Tap the Bluetooth and GPS (Location) quick toggles to disable the features
- To disable Wi-Fi, tap and hold the toggle and set the Wi-Fi switch OFF
- For hotspot options, open Settings and access Network & Internet
- Tap hotspot & Tethering
- Tap the Wi-Fi Hotspot switch OFF
Remove Third-Party Apps:
NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the devices battery life. You can try and improve battery life by disabling or removing unused third-party apps.
- Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
- Open Settings
- Go to Apps & Notifications
- Switch to See all apps if necessary
- Select the desired app and tap Uninstall > OK
Keep the OS Up To Date:
NOTE: OS updates can potentially improve battery life and its recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.
- Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
- Open Settings
- Go to System > System updates
- Tap Check for update
- If updates are available, follow the prompts to download and apply them
