Enable Battery Optimization:

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Go to “Battery” > “Battery optimization”
  4. Select an app to optimize it
  5. In addition you can tap “Menu” and enable “Advanced optimization”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left in the Notification area
  3. Open “Settings” and go to “Display”
  4. Tap “Advanced” for more options
  5. Tap “Sleep” for timeout options and select a lower value

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when they are not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve the device’s battery life.

  1. Swipe the Status bar down
  2. Tap the “GPS (Location)” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to disable the features
  3. To disable Wi-Fi, tap and hold the Wi-Fi toggle and set the switch OFF
  4. Open “Settings” and go to “Network & Internet” > “Hotspot & Tethering”
  5. Tap “Wi-Fi Hotspot” and set the switch OFF

Uninstall Third-Party Apps:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. You can potentially improve battery life by removing or disabling unused third-party apps.

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Access “Apps & Notifications”
  4. Switch to “See all apps”
  5. Select the desired app
  6. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times.

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Go to “System”
  4. Tap “System update” > “Check for update”
  5. If applicable, follow the prompts to download and install the update
