Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: If an app causes issues or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try solving these issues by clearing the app’s cache or data. WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all of your data stored within the app will be deleted, including custom settings, user profiles, login data etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app’s cache.

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
  2. Open “Settings” and go to “Apps & Notifications”
  3. Switch to “All apps”
  4. Select the desired app and tap “Storage” > “Clear cache”
  5. If clearing the app cache didn’t fix the issues, tap “Clear data”

Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset:

NOTE: Before factory resetting the device, ensure you’ve backed up all of your data.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “System”
  3. Tap “Reset options”
  4. To reset network settings, go to “Reset Wi-Fi Mobile & Bluetooth”
  5. Tap “Reset” two times
  6. To reset app settings, access “Reset app preferences” and tap “Reset apps”
  7. To factory reset the phone, tap “Erase all data (Factory Reset)” > “Reset phone”
  8. Tap “Erase everything”

Reboot to Safe Mode and Uninstall an App:

NOTE: If a third-party app causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to remove the app while in Safe Mode where all third-party apps are disabled by default.

  1. Press and hold “Power”
  2. From the power management pop-up, tap and hold “Power off”
  3. Wait for the phone to finish rebooting and you should see a “Safe Mode” watermark on the home screen
  4. Open “Settings” and go to “Apps & Notifications”
  5. Switch to “All apps” if needed
  6. Select the desired app
  7. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
  8. To exit Safe Mode, press and hold “Power” and reboot the phone normally
