Enable Battery Optimization:

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Go to “Battery” > “Battery optimization”
  4. Select an app to optimize
  5. Optionally, tap “Menu” and enable “Advanced optimization”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Drag the brightens slider towards the left in the Notification shade
  3. Open “Settings” and go to “Display”
  4. Tap “Advanced” > “Sleep”
  5. Select a lower timeout value

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when they are not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve the device’s battery life.

  1. Swipe the Status bar down
  2. Tap the “GPS (Location)” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to disable the features
  3. To disable Wi-Fi, tap and hold the toggle and tap the Wi-Fi switch OFF
  4. Open “Settings” for more options and go to “Network & Internet”
  5. Tap “Hotspot & Tethering”
  6. Tap “Wi-Fi Hotspot” and disable the feature

Remove Third-Party Apps:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. You might improve battery life by removing or disabling unused third-party apps.

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Access “Apps & Notifications”
  4. If necessary, switch to “See all apps”
  5. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Go to “System” and tap “System update”
  4. Tap “Check for update”
  5. If applicable, follow the prompts to download and install the update
