Enable Battery optimization:

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
  2. Open “Settings” and access “Battery”
  3. Tap “Battery optimization”
  4. Select an app to optimize
  5. Optionally, tap “Menu” and enable “Advanced optimization”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left side of the screen
  3. Open “Settings” and access “Display”
  4. Tap “Advanced” > “Sleep”
  5. Select a lower timeout value

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when they are not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve the device’s battery life.

  1. Swipe the Status bar down
  2. Tap the “Bluetooth” and “GPS (Location)” quick toggles to disable the features
  3. To disable Wi-Fi, tap and hold the Wi-Fi toggle and set the switch OFF
  4. Launch “Settings” and go to “Network & Internet”
  5. Tap “Hotspot & Tethering” > “Wi-Fi Hotspot”
  6. Set the switch OFF

Uninstall Third-Party Apps:

NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. You can potentially improve battery life by removing unused third-party apps.

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Go to “Apps & Notifications” and switch to “See all apps”
  4. Select the desired app
  5. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
  2. Open “Settings” and go to “System”
  3. Tap “System update”
  4. Tap “Check for update” and follow the prompts to download and apply available updates
