Enable Battery Optimization:
- Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
- Launch Settings
- Go to Battery
- Tap Battery optimization and select an app to optimize
- Optionally, tap Menu and enable Advanced optimization
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- Drag the brightness slider towards the left
- Open Settings for more options
- Go to Display and tap Advanced
- Tap Sleep and select a lower timeout value
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: You can disable the phones connectivity features when they are not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.
- Swipe the Status bar down and tap the GPS (Location) and Bluetooth quick toggles to disable the features
- To disable Wi-Fi, tap and hold the Wi-Fi toggle and set the switch OFF
- Open Settings for more options
- Go to Network & Internet
- Tap Hotspot & Tethering > Wi-Fi Hotspot
- Set the switch OFF
Uninstall Third-Party Apps:
NOTE: Third-party apps can perform regular background processes and this can affect the devices battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By removing third-party apps you can potentially improve battery life.
- Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
- Open Settings and go to Apps & Notifications
- Switch to See all apps if necessary
- Select the desired app and tap Uninstall > OK
Keep the OS Updated:
NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and its recommended to keep the OS updated at all times.
- Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
- Open Settings and go to System
- Tap System updates > Check for update
- If available, follow the prompts to download and apply the updates
