Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: If an app causes issues or takes up more storage than it should, you can try fixing the issues by clearing the app’s cache or data. WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all of your data stored within the app will be deleted, such as user profiles, login data, custom settings etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app cache.

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen and open “Settings”
  2. Tap “Apps & Notifications”
  3. Switch to “All apps”
  4. Select the desired app and tap “Storage”
  5. Tap “Clear cache”
  6. If clearing the app cache didn’t fix the problems, tap “Clear data”

Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset the Device:

NOTE: Make sure you’ve backed up all of your data before factory resetting the device.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “System” and tap “Reset options”
  3. To reset network settings, go to “Reset Wi-Fi Mobile & Bluetooth”
  4. Tap “Reset” two times
  5. To reset app settings, go to “Reset app preferences” > “Reset apps”
  6. To factory reset the phone, tap “Erase all data (Factory Reset)” > “Reset Phone” > “Erase Everything”

Uninstall Apps in Safe Mode:

NOTE: If a third-party app causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to remove the app while in Safe Mode where all third-party apps are disabled by default.

  1. Press and hold “Power”
  2. In the power-management pop-up, tap and hold “Power Off”
  3. Wait for the phone to finish rebooting and once done, you should see a “Safe Mode” watermark in the lower area of the home screen
  4. Launch “Settings”
  5. Go to “Apps & Notifications” and switch to “All apps” if necessary
  6. Select the desired app
  7. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
  8. Once done, you can exit Safe Mode by pressing and holding “Power” and rebooting the phone normally
