Clear App Data/Cache:
NOTE: If an app on your phone doesnt work as intended or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing the issues by clearing the apps cache or data. WARNING! When you clear an apps data, all of your personal data stored within the app will be deleted, including login details, user profiles, custom settings etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app cache.
- Open Settings
- Go to Apps & Notifications
- Switch to All apps and select the desired app
- Access Storage and tap Clear cache
- If clearing the app cache didnt fix the issues, tap Clear data (Check the WARNING above)
Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset the Device:
NOTE: Make sure youve backed up all of your personal data before factory resetting the phone, otherwise you will lose it during the reset process.
- Open Settings
- Access System
- Tap Reset options
- To reset network settings, access Reset Wi-Fi Mobile & Bluetooth and tap Reset twice
- To reset app settings, tap Reset app preferences > Reset apps
- To factory reset the device, tap Erase all data (Factory Reset) > Reset phone > Erase Everything
Remove Apps in Safe Mode:
NOTE: If a third-party application causes problems and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app from Safe Mode where all of the third-party apps are disabled by default. To boot in Safe Mode:
- Press and hold Power on the home screen
- Tap and hold Power off in the power management pop-up
- Wait for the phone to finish rebooting and once done, you should see a Safe Mode watermark in the lower area of the home screen
- To remove an app, first open Settings and then go to Apps & Notifications
- Switch to All apps and select the desired app
- Tap Uninstall > OK
- To exit Safe Mode, reboot the device normally
