Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: If an app causes issues and takes up too much storage, you can try fixing the issues by clearing the app cache or data. WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all of your personal data stored within the app will be deleted, such as user profiles, custom settings etc. To avoid personal app data, clear ONLY the app cache.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Apps & Notifications”
  3. Switch to “See all apps”
  4. Select the desired app
  5. Tap “Storage” > “Clear cache”
  6. If clearing the cache didn’t solve the issues, tap “Clear data” (check the WARNING above)

Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset the Device:

NOTE: Ensure you’ve backed up all of your data before factory resetting the phone, or all of your data will be lost.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “System” > “Reset options”
  3. To reset network settings, tap “Reset Wi-Fi Mobile & Bluetooth”
  4. Tap “Reset” two times to confirm
  5. To reset app settings, tap “Reset app preferences” > “Reset apps”
  6. To factory reset the phone, tap “Erase all data (Factory Reset)” > “Reset phone” > “Erase Everything”

Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove Apps:

NOTE: If a third-party app causes issues and prevents you from uninstalling it, you should be able to remove the app while in Safe Mode, where all third-party apps are disabled by default.

  1. On the home screen, press and hold “Power” and then tap and hold “Power off” in the power management pop-up
  2. When prompted to boot to Safe Mode, accept and wait for the device to reboot. Once one, a “Safe Mode” watermark should be visible in the lower area of the home screen
  3. Open “Settings” and then access “Apps & Notifications”
  4. Switch to “See all apps” if necessary
  5. Select the desired app
  6. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
  7. To exit Safe Mode, reboot the phone as you would normally do
