    Hello,

I have purchased an Alcatel GO Flip. I want to use my custom MP3 for the alerts tone (the notification sound when you receive alerts). When I go to Settings > Personalization > Sound, I see:

    - RINGTONE
    - ALERTS TONE
    - MANAGE TONES

In MANAGE TONES, there is an option to add my custom MP3, which I sent by Bluetooth. However, once I add it, there is only a "convert to ringtone" option. There is no "convert to alerts tone" option. Afterwards, I can see my custom MP3 in RINGTONE, but I can't see it in ALERTS TONE.

    Can you help me?

Re: Custom alerts tone in Alcatel GO Flip?

    Hello again,

Problem solved! I found online the extracted directory structure of an Alcatel phone, and this allowed me to determine that alerts tone are stored in:

    notifications

    while ringtones are stored in:

    ringtones

You need to create on the SD card of your phone a directory titled "notifications" and put the MP3 file(s) inside. Then, they will be recognized as alerts tone.

To write on the SD card, you can connect your Alcatel phone via USB to your computer and use the program "whoozle/android-file-transfer-linux" if you're running Linux or macOS.

P.S. Just to be clear, Alcatel GO Flip uses KaiOS, not Android, but the program "whoozle/android-file-transfer-linux" will work all the same, because of the Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) protocol. Bye now! Au revoir!

I have the Cricket Alcatel Quickflip, and i tried creating a folder "notifications" thru usb, but i cant create in the root. I can above the root. We are talking the internal SD as opposed to the removable SD card, correct?

Can you share the folder structure please

    Thanks

    Michael

Unfortunately, I tried this (adding the notifications folder to the SD card with MP3 files in it) and it didn't recognize the file as a notification tone. I know this is a couple of years old. I wonder if there's any new info on this. Thanks!
