Clear App Data/Cache:

NOTE: If an app causes issues or takes up more storage than it should, you can try fixing it by clearing the app’s cache or data.

WARNING! By clearing the app’s data, all of your personal data stored within the app will be deleted. You can avoid this by clearing only the app’s cache.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Apps & Notifications” and switch to “See all apps”
  3. Select the desired app and tap “Storage” > “Clear cache”
  4. If clearing the app cache didn’t fix the issues, tap “Clear data” (Check the WARNING above)

Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset:

NOTE: Ensure you’ve backed up all of your data before factory resetting the device to avoid losing it.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access “System” > “Reset options”
  3. To reset network settings, tap “Reset Wi-Fi Mobile & Bluetooth”
  4. Tap “Reset” two times
  5. To reset app settings, tap “Reset app preferences” > “Reset apps”
  6. To factory reset the phone, tap “Erase all data (Factory Reset)” > “Reset phone” > “Erase everything”

Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove Apps:

NOTE: If a third-party app causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app while in Safe Mode where all third-party apps are disabled by default.

  1. Press and hold “Power” on the home screen
  2. In the power management pop-up, tap and hold “Power Off” and accept to reboot into Safe Mode. Once done, a “Safe Mode” watermark should be visible on the home screen
  3. Open “Settings” and access “Apps & Notifications”
  4. Switch to “See all apps” and select the desired app
  5. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
  6. To exit Safe Mode, reboot the phone normally
