Hi guys! I am a first-time diamond buyer (just got my first annual bonus and I'm using it to buy studs..) and have purchased diamonds only from jewelry sections like Kohl's in the past. Overall I'd say my price range is $2-$2.5K.

I am looking for a 1ct pair of diamond studs - and I like the idea of buying from a retailer that has a diamond upgrade program.

The only things I really "care" about are how shiny/reflective the diamond is.

I had a consult with a Blue Nile rep and he said I should only be looking at diamonds cut "Ideal" for that brilliance, and with a none/faint fluorescence rating.

For a pair of diamond studs 0.5ct each, do you find this to be good advice?

Regarding retailers to purchase from, is Blue Nile the best reco? I was looking into Brilliant Earth too, so curious to hear about recs for first time diamond buyers.

    Thank you immensely!

Re: Advice buying diamond stud earrings

Not too long ago I also needed some advice on where to buy good diamond earrings, as there was no way I could find a good jewelry store where I could find good earrings. Fortunately, my friend advised me to pay attention to these yellow diamond earrings.
At first I was skeptical of his advice, but I decided to listen to him and didn't regret it, because these earrings were perfect!
