I just recently purchased a data link cable for my VX4400 phone at Radio Shack. I was told it would not work without there software? I don't want to spend $40 on some software if anyone knows where I can get it someplace else. All I want it for is to downlaod midi ringtones to my phone.

Radio Shack employee's are dumb... they sold me a data cable and software bundle, and told me it would let me create ringtones and put them on my phone. It doesnt work, i researched it and it is a different program. grrrr

OMG.. this is such a great conversation...
one of my friends who was in high school worked for a store around the corner... sheesh.. the kid sold phones and literally regurgitated what he read out of the sales manual.
