Until there is a standalone MS Word viewer that doesn't rely on a server or an expensive office suite, I don't think the G1 really works as a business phone. There are a couple of spreadsheet apps that are okay but Word is the cornerstone of business apps.

I love my G1 but I've had several WinMo phones and for business they aren't even on the same planet. Android focuses so much on social networking, business users are an afterthought. (IMO)

What? Have you not noticed the apps out there for android phones. I have documents to go which has word, excel, powerpoint, and pdf. And besides viewing word and excel, you can edit and create word and excel files.

You can push microsoft exchange. You can access just about every external email out there. I even found a business card reader app.

I've had 3 WinMobile (with WinMobile 6) phones and I love this one (mytouch) the best.

Documents to Go is kind of pricey when most pocket Office apps come standard in a WinMo phone. I suppose if you don't mind paying $$ for it, then the playing field is more even. But the G1 won't even open an RTF file.

Exchange support isn't standard with the G1 official rom. Just saying not all Android phones are created equal.
