How-To: Add a New Contact.

1. On the Home screen tap the "Apps" icon and select "People".
2. On the "People" tab, press the "Add" button found at the top of the screen.
3. Tap the "Name" field and type-in the name of your new contact.
4. Select the contact type and continue entering the necessary contact information in the appropriated fields.
5. Tap "Save" when ready.


How-To: Import or Copy Contacts.

To Import Contacts from the SIM card:

1. While on the "People" tab, tap the "Menu" icon at the top right of the screen and select "Manage contacts".
2. Tap "Import/Export contacts".
3. Press "Import from SIM card".
4. Select the contacts you wish to import then tap "Save".

To Import a Contact from an Exchange ActiveSync account:

1. While on the "People" tab, tap the search box and type-in the contact's name or email address.
2. Press "Search contacts in your Company Directory".
3. Once you find the contact you wish to import, tap its name.
4. Press the "+" button to save the selected contact to your Exchange ActiveSync account.

To Copy Contacts between Accounts:

1. While on the "People" tab, press the "Menu" button and select "Manage contacts".
2. Press "Copy contacts".
3. Select a contact type or the online account from which you wish to copy the contact.
4. Choose a contact type or the account on which you to save the contact.


How-To: Merge Contact Information.

Your HTC One X will automatically detect contacts that can be merged. Once it does so it will notify you, suggesting to link the contacts. To accept link suggestions:

1. While on the "People" tab the link suggestion notification.
2. From the list of suggested contacts, select the ones you wish to merge.

To Manually Merge Contact Information:

1. While on the "People" tab, press the name of the contact you wish to link.
2. Press the link icon.
3. After pressing the link icon you can:

- Tap the link icon under "Suggested links" in order to link the contact to an account.
- Select the linking options under "Add contact".

To Break a Link:

1. While on the "People" tab, tap the name of the desired contact.
2. Press the link icon.
3. Under "Linked contacts", tap the link icon next to an account to break the link.
