Adding an Email Account:

  1. Open the "Mail" app. (You should find a shortcut on the dock bar, but if it's missing, then open the apps drawer)
  2. Tap the "Menu" icon depicting three vertical dots
  3. Tap "Add account"
  4. Select the desired email provider, or tap "Other (POP3/IMAP)"
  5. Type in your email address and password, and tap "Next"
  6. Optionally, enter a name for your email account and set any other options as desired
  7. Tap "Finish setup"

Learning the Mail App:

  1. Open the "Mail" application. You will view the inbox of the selected email account
  2. Here, you can:
    • Tap an email to read it
    • Switch between email accounts by tapping the email bar located at the top of the screen
    • Display emails in another mail folder, by tapping "Menu" > "Folder" and selecting the folder that you wish to view
    • View email messages from all accounts, by tapping the email bar and selecting "All accounts"
    • Change an email account's settings by selecting it and tapping "Menu" > "Settings"

Organizing Your Inbox Using Filters:

  1. In the "Mail" app, select the account that you wish to use
  2. Tap "Inbox" and tap "Menu"
  3. Select "Filters" and choose the tabs that you wish to add to the inbox
  4. Tap "Done"
  5. Swipe to the added tab to check your emails

Composing and Sending an Email Message:

  1. Open the "Mail" application
  2. Select the desired email account (if you have multiple accounts)
  3. Tap the "+" icon to start composing an email
  4. Enter one or more recipients in the appropriate field. (NOTE: to loop in more recipients in a carbon copy or a blind carbon copy, tap "Menu" > "Show Cc/Bcc"
  5. Tap the "Subject" field and enter a subject
  6. Compose the message in the text field
  7. Optionally, you can:
    • Tap the "Attach" button to add an attachment to your email
    • Set the email's priority to a different level, by tapping "Menu" > "Set priority"
  8. Tap the "Send" button when ready, or press the "Back" button / tap "Menu" > "Save" to save the email as a draft

Resuming a Draft Email Message:

  1. Access the "Mail" app and select the desired email account
  2. In the Inbox, tap "Menu" > "Folder" > "Draft"
  3. Select the desired message
  4. Finish editing the email if necessary, and tap the "Send" button when ready

Reading and Replying to Email Messages:

  1. After receiving an email, open the "Mail" app
  2. If necessary, select the desired email account
  3. In the inbox, select the email or conversation that you wish to read
  4. To reply to the email message, tap "Reply" or "Reply All"

NOTE: To save an email attachment, such as an image, tap and hold the embedded photo and select "Save image". By default the image will be saved in the "Downloads" folder

Saving an Email Message in the "Tasks" App:

You can save an email in the "Tasks" app so that you can get a reminder to reply to the email. To do so:

  1. Open the "Mail" app and access the desired inbox
  2. Tap and hold the desired email message, and tap "Save as task"
  3. Enter the tasks details and tap "Save"

Managing Email Messages

Moving Email Messages to a Different Folder:

  1. In the "Mail" app, switch to the email account that you want to use
  2. Select the desired email. Optionally, you can select all of the emails by tapping "Menu" > "Select all"
  3. Tap "Move to" and then select the desired folder

Deleting Email Messages:

  1. In the desired inbox, select the email message that you wish to delete
  2. Optionally, to delete all email messages, tap "Menu" > "Select all"
  3. Tap "Delete"

Working With Exchange ActiveSync Email

Flagging an Email:

  1. In the "Mail" app, switch to your Exchange ActiveSync account
  2. In the inbox, tap the "Flag" icon associated with the desired email message or conversation

Setting an Out of Office Status:

  1. Access your "Exchange ActiveSync" inbox
  2. Tap "Menu" > "Out of office"
  3. Select the current office status and tap "Out of the office"
  4. Set the desired times and dates, and enter the auto-reply message. NOTE: If you wish a different auto-reply message for recipients that our outside of your organization, tap "Send replies to external senders", and enter an auto-reply message
  5. Tap "Save"

Sending a Meeting Request:

  1. Access your Exchange ActiveSync account
  2. Tap "Menu" > "New meeting invitation"
  3. Enter the meeting details
  4. Tap "Save", or "Send" assuming that you've invited people to the meeting
