Back Up to Google Drive:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Tap “Backup & reset”
  3. Tap “Backup account” and select “HTC Account”
  4. If necessary, sign in with your HTC account (You can also use a Google or Facebook account)
  5. Tap “Google Drive” in the “Cloud Storage” menu
  6. Tap “OK” and sign in with your Google account to gain access to Drive
  7. Enable “Automatic backup”, or tap “Back up now” to back up data manually

NOTE: To allow daily auto backups, go to “Settings” > “Back up phone daily over Wi-Fi”

Restore Data from Google Drive:

  1. When you turn on your phone for the first time, or after a factory reset, you will be prompted to “Restore from HTC Backup”
  2. Accept and sign in with the account containing the backup
  3. Go to the history menu and select the desired backup
  4. Tap “Next” and sign in with your Google account
  5. Allow to connect to Drive, and tap “Next” once the files have been restored

Create and Restore Local Backups

Back Up Contacts to SD:

  1. Open “Phone”
  2. Access the “Phone” tab and press “Menu”
  3. Tap “Manage contacts” > “Import / Export contacts”
  4. Tap “Export to SD card” > “Export to phone storage”
  5. Select an account, and tap “Yes” if you want to set a password for the backup file
  6. Tap “OK” to create the backup

Restore Contacts from Storage or SD:

  1. Launch “People”
  2. Tap “Menu” > “Manage Contacts” > “Import / Export contacts”
  3. Select to “Import from phone storage” or “Import from SD card”
  4. If necessary, select an account, then highlight the backup and tap “OK”
  5. In case the backup file is password-protected, enter the password and tap “OK”

Back Up Messages:

  1. Launch “Messages”
  2. Tap “Menu” > “Backup / Restore SMS”
  3. Tap “Back up” > “Back up SMS”
  4. Optionally, you can set a password for the backup file
  5. Enter a name for the file and tap “OK”

Back Up Messages via Email:

  1. Open “Messages”
  2. Tap “Menu” > “Back up / Restore SMS”
  3. Tap “Back up” > “Back up SMS via email”
  4. Select if you want to protect the backup file with a password
  5. Lastly, send the email containing the attached file to your own address

NOTE: To restore the messages, simply open the email, download the attached file, and use the “Messages” application to import its contents

Back Up Dictionaries:

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Tap “Language & Keyboard”
  3. Tap “HTC Sense Input” and choose “Personal dictionary”
  4. Tap “Menu” > “Back up to storage” or “Back up to email”
  5. Press “OK” to confirm

Back Up / Restore Tasks:

  1. Launch “Tasks”
  2. Tap “menu” in the task list
  3. Tap “Import / Export” > “Export to SD card”

NOTE: To restore tasks, open “Tasks”, tap “Menu” > “Import / Export” > “Import from SD card”
