The HTC Desire has just released their handset in India but come without the Android 2.2 Froyo. Instead, it will run on Android 2.1 but is expected to get the Android 2.2 Froyo update sometime soon.
Price of the HTC Desire for India will be 28,900 INR free on contract and will be available on Tata DoCoMo where customers will receive 500MB of free data for the first 6 months. The price of the HTC Desire is more expensive than the HTC Wildfire that was launched not too long ago in India but is compared to the high end handsets such as Motorola Milestone XT720 and the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10.
