Enable Power Saver Mode:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Personal”
  4. Tap “Power” > “Power saver”
  5. Tick the boxes associated with the power saver features you wish to be enabled while Power Saver Mode is active
  6. Tap the switch next to “Power saver” to enable the feature

Decrease Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Phone”
  3. Tap “Display & Gestures”
  4. Tap “Brightness level” and, if necessary, disable “Automatic brightness”
  5. Drag the brightness slider to the left side of the screen to decrease luminosity
  6. Go back to “Display & Gestures” and tap “Screen timeout”
  7. Select a lower timeout value, such as “15 seconds”

Disable Connectivity Features When Unused:

NOTE: By turning off Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth whenever they are not in use, you might be able to improve battery life in the long run. To do this:

  1. Access “Settings”
  2. Tap the switches associated with “Wi-Fi” and “Bluetooth” to disable these features
  3. Under “Wireless & Networks”, tap “More”
  4. Tap “Mobile network sharing” and turn off “Mobile hotspot”
  5. Go back to “Settings” and scroll to “Personal”
  6. Tap “Location” > “Mode”
  7. Enable “Battery saving”

Switch to 2G Connectivity:

NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank and you wish to conserve energy, you can do so by temporarily switching to 2G connectivity. To do this:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Tap “Mobile data”
  3. Tap “Network mode”
  4. Select “GSM only”

Change Sync Settings and Turn Off Background Data:

NOTE: By changing your apps / accounts’ sync settings to reduce sync, you might be able to improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to and tap “Accounts & Sync”
  3. Select an application to turn off background sync
  4. For more sync options, select an account type and an account

Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third party applications can affect battery performance even though they might not be in use. This is due to the fact that some apps perform regular background processes. Thus, by disabling or removing unused third party apps, you might improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Under “Phone”, tap “Apps”
  4. Go to “Downloaded”
  5. Select the desired app
  6. Tap “Disable” to turn off the app
  7. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

Keep The OS Up To Date:

NOTE: Software updates can include battery life improvements, so it’s recommended to keep your phone up to date at all times. To check for updates:

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Phone”
  3. Tap “About” > “Software information”
  4. Tap “Check now” and if necessary, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install any available updates
