Transfer Audio Files from a Windows Computer:

  1. Connect the HTC Desire 628 to your computer via USB
  2. At the prompt, enable “Media device (MTP)” or “File Transfer (MTP)”, otherwise swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen and enable the option from the “notification” area
  3. On the computer, open the File Explorer
  4. Locate the desired audio files on the PC
  5. Copy the files and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” / “Notifications” folders
  6. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord

Change the General Ringtone:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Under “Personalize”, tap “Ringtone”
  4. Select the desired ringtone and tap “Apply”

Set a Custom Ringtone to a Specific Contact:

NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be set to contacts located on the SIM card or the device’s internal memory.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “People” and select the desired contact
  3. Tap “Ringtone” and select the ringtone you want to use
  4. Tap “Apply” to save the changes

Change the Notification Alert:

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Scroll to and tap “Sound & Notifications”
  3. Tap “Notification sound” and select the notification alert you want to set
  4. Tap “Apply”
