NOTE: For instructions on how you can back up app data, contacts, and media files on the HTC Desire 10 Pro, you can visit this thread.
Restore App Data:
- Make sure the phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
- Open the apps drawer and launch Settings
- Tap Backup and reset under Personal
- Tap Restore from HTC Backup
- Follow the on-screen instructions to select a backup account and restore app data
Restore Contacts from a Google Account:
- Access Settings
- Under Personal, tap Accounts & Sync
- Sign in with the Google account you used for the backup
- Access the accounts sync settings and make sure Contacts is checked
- Tap Menu > Sync All
Restore Media Files from a Windows Computer:
- Connect the HTC Desire 10 Pro to your computer via USB
- Turn On Media Device (MTP) / File Transfer (MTP) at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the PC and locate the media file backups
- Copy the backup files and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the Media folder or the directory they originate from
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Restore Media Files form a Mac Computer:
- Establish a connection between your Mac and HTC device via USB
- Enable Media device (MTP) / File Transfer (MTP) at the prompt or from Notification
- On the Mac, launch the File Finder and locate the media file backups
- Copy the files and transfer them on the phone storage
- After the restore is complete, eject the phone storage by dragging and dropping the virtual drive into the Trash can and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
