Back Up App Data:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Personal”
  4. Tap “Backup and reset” > “Backup account”
  5. Select an existing account or tap “Google account” > “Add account”
  6. Log in with your account
  7. Enable “Backup account” and “Back up my data”

Back Up Contacts on a Google / HTC Account:

  1. Ensure the phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
  2. Open the apps drawer and launch “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup and reset”
  4. Select “HTC Account” or “Google account”
  5. Enable “Automatic backup” to allow the device to perform automatic daily backups over Wi-Fi
  6. To back up contacts manually, ensure “Contacts” is enabled and tap “Back up now”

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the HTC device to your computer via USB
  2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate and copy the desired media files
  5. Paste the files in the desired backup location on the computer
  6. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:

  1. Connect the HTC device to your computer via USB
  2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
  3. Launch the File Finder on the Mac and use it to locate the media files on the phone storage
  4. Copy and transfer the files in the desired backup location on the Mac
  5. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the “Trash can”
  6. Safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
