Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Personal
- Tap Power > Power saver
- Tick the boxes associated with the options you want to enable
- Tap the Power saver switch to enable the option
Decrease Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Launch Settings
- Tap Display & Gestures under Phone
- Tap brightness level
- If necessary, turn Adaptive brightness Off
- Drag the brightness slider towards the left side to decrease luminosity
- For additional options, go to Display & Gestures and tap Screen timeout
- Select a lower timeout value
Disable the Phones Connectivity Features When Unused:
NOTE: By disabling your phones connectivity features including Bluetooth, GPS, Hotspot, and Wi-Fi, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Open Settings
- Tap the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi switches to disable the features
- For GPS options, scroll to and tap Location
- Then tap Mode and enable Battery saving
- To disable Hotspot, return to Settings and tap More under Wireless & Networks
- Tap Mobile network sharing and disable Mobile Hotspot
Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:
NOTE: if your phone runs low on battery and you dont have quick access to a wall socket or battery ban, you can conserve battery until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.
- Open Settings
- Scroll to and tap Mobile data
- Tap Network mode
- Enable GSM only
Minimize Third party App Usage:
NOTE: Certain third party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Phone and tap Apps
- Access Downloaded and select the desired app
- Tap Disable to turn the applications Off
- To remove the app from the phone, tap Uninstall > OK
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: By changing your apps/accounts sync settings to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Open Settings
- Scroll to and tap Accounts & Sync
- Select an app to disable background processes
- For more Sync options, select an account type and an account
Keep the OS Updated:
NOTE: OS updates can include improvements to battery life, and as such its recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Phone
- Tap About > System information
- Tap Check now
- If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update. NOTE: The update process will require at least one reboot
