Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Display & Gestures”
  3. Tap “brightness level”
  4. If necessary, disable “Adaptive brightness”
  5. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease brightness
  6. Access “Screen timeout” for timeout options and select a lower value

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: If you turn the phone’s connectivity off when not actively in use, you can avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” and “Bluetooth” switches to disable the features
  3. Access “Location” for GPS options and tap “mode” > “Battery saving”
  4. To disable hotspot, return to “Settings” and tap “more” under “Wireless & Networks”
  5. Tap “Mobile network sharing” and disable “Mobile hotspot”

Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Access “Personal”
  3. Tap “Power” > “Power saver”
  4. Tick the boxes associated with the power saving options you want to enable
  5. When ready, tap the “Power saver” switch to enable the option

Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve the energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Access “Mobile data”
  3. Tap “Network mode”
  4. Enable “GSM only”

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By removing or disabling unused third-party apps, you may improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Access “Apps”
  3. If necessary, switch to “Downloaded”
  4. Select the desired app and tap “Disable” to turn it off
  5. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

Change Sync Settings:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Accounts & Sync”
  3. Select an account
  4. Change the available settings to minimize sync

Keep the OS Update:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To do this:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
  3. Access “System updates”
  4. Tap “Check now” and if applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update (the process will require at least one reboot)
