Back Up App Data:

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Access “Backup and reset”
  3. Tap “Backup account”
  4. Select an existing account or tap “Google account” > “add account”
  5. Enable “Backup account” and “Back up my data”

Back Up Contacts on a Google or HTC Account:

  1. Ensure the phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
  2. Go to “Settings” and access “Backup and reset”
  3. Select “Google account” or “HTC account”
  4. If you wish for the phone to perform automatic daily backups over Wi-Fi, enable “Automatic backup”
  5. To back up your contacts manually, ensure “Contacts” is checked and tap “Back up now”

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
  2. One the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media files on the phone
  5. Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the computer
  6. Safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

Back Up Media Files on a Mac:

  1. Connect the Android phone to the Mac via USB
  2. Enable “File Transfer” / ‘Media device” on the phone
  3. Open the File Finder on the Mac and navigate to the media files on the phone
  4. Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the Mac storage
  5. Once the transfer completes, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and drop it over the “trash can” to eject it
  6. You can safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
