Back Up App Data:
- Go to Settings
- Access Backup and reset
- Tap Backup account
- Select an existing account or tap Google account > add account
- Enable Backup account and Back up my data
Back Up Contacts on a Google or HTC Account:
- Ensure the phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
- Go to Settings and access Backup and reset
- Select Google account or HTC account
- If you wish for the phone to perform automatic daily backups over Wi-Fi, enable Automatic backup
- To back up your contacts manually, ensure Contacts is checked and tap Back up now
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- One the phone, enable Media device / File Transfer at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media files on the phone
- Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the computer
- Safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
Back Up Media Files on a Mac:
- Connect the Android phone to the Mac via USB
- Enable File Transfer / Media device on the phone
- Open the File Finder on the Mac and navigate to the media files on the phone
- Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the Mac storage
- Once the transfer completes, drag the phones virtual drive from the desktop and drop it over the trash can to eject it
- You can safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
