Back Up App Data:
- Open Settings
- Access Backup and reset
- Tap Backup account
- Select an existing account or tap Google account > Add account
- Enable Backup account and Back up my data
Back Up Contacts on a Google or HTC Account:
- Make sure the phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
- Open Settings
- Go to Backup and reset
- Select HTC account or Google account
- To allow your phone to perform automatic daily backups over Wi-Fi, enable Automatic backup
- To back up your contacts manually, ensure Contacts is checked then tap Back up now
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
- On the phone, enable File Transfer / Media device when prompted or from the notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the PC
- Navigate to the media files on the phone
- Copy the files and transfer them to the desired backup location on the PC storage
- Once done, safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:
- Connect the Android phone to the Mac via USB
- On the phone, enable Media device / File Transfer at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Finder on the Mac
- Locate the media files on the phone
- Copy and paste the files to the desired backup location on the Mac
- Once the transfer completes, drag the phones virtual drive from the desktop and drop it over the trash can to eject it
- Safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
