Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Personal”
  3. Tap “Power” > “Power saver”
  4. Tick the boxes next to the power saving options you want to enable
  5. Tap the “Power saver” switch ON

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Display & Gestures”
  3. Tap “Brightness level”
  4. Disable “Adaptive brightness”
  5. Drag the brightness slider towards the left in order to decrease screen brightness
  6. For timeout options, tap “Screen timeout” and select a lower value

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features OFF when they are not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” and “Bluetooth” switches to disable the features
  3. Open “Location” for more GPS options then tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
  4. To disable Hotspot, return to “Settings” and tap “more” under “Wireless & Networks”
  5. Tap “Mobile network sharing” and disable “Mobile Hotspot”

Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Mobile data” > “Network mode”
  3. Enable “GSM only”

Change Sync Settings:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Accounts & Sync”
  3. Select an account and change the available settings to minimize sync

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform background processes regularly and they can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. BY disabling or removing unused third-party apps, you can potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Apps”
  3. Switch to “Downloaded” if necessary then select the desired app
  4. To turn the app off, tap “Disable”
  5. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “About phone”
  3. Tap “System updates” > “Check now”
  4. If applicable, follow the prompts to download and apply the update
