Do you think that this has largely to do with the Iden Network and the fact that Sprint had over 90 billion direct connect connections in 2007?
I read in a press release Feb 12, 2008

"Nextel Direct Connect is the world's largest and fastest push-to-talk service, with millions of users enjoying it today. As the leading provider of push-to-talk service, Sprint has the largest portfolio of Nextel Direct Connect devices, including the largest selection of rugged phones certified to Military Standard 810F for dust, shock, vibration, etc. Sprint also offers exclusive Public Safety push-to-talk applications such as Priority Connect, Emergency Group Connect and Priority Group Connect."

Hopefully they dont get rid of the nextel phones. I thought they were never gonna release another phone after the i880, but then they busted out the i570 and I believe another one too.

Yes the other phone you speak of is the i335 which is one of the thinnest iden phones out. Not to mention it also has BT and for the price it is an amazing phone. The only drawback is the battery life.

There have been many rumors of them doing away with the Nextel network but it is what it is just rumors. Actually Dan Hess mentioned in a press release earlier last month that with over 95% of the service and construction industry using Nextel and with over 90 Billion direct connect connections in 2007 that there is no reason to do away with such a valuable network. They have also allocated a new budget to come out with a better PDA device for the IDEN network. The BB 7100 isn't the best device in the world...LOL
