Enable and Manage Eco Mode (Battery Saving Mode):

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Tap “Eco Mode” and set the feature to “Auto on”
  4. Alternatively, disable “Auto on” and tap “ON” (always on)
  5. Furthermore, you can customize how Eco Mode works by tapping the “Gear” icon located in the upper-right corner. Doing so allows you to manage Wi-Fi, display brightness, auto-rotate and more

Lower Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Go to “Display”
  4. If necessary, turn off auto brightness
  5. Tap “Brightness level” and drag the slider towards the left
  6. Return to “Display” and tap “Sleep”
  7. Select a lower timeout value, such as “15 seconds”

Disable Connectivity When Not in Use:

NOTE: By turning off the phone’s connectivity features when they are not in use (such as Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth), you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Drag the “Status” bar down on the home screen
  2. Tap the “V” arrow to view all the tiles
  3. Tap the tiles associated with “Wi-Fi”, Bluetooth” , “Hotspot” and “Location” (GPS) to turn off these connectivity options

Switch to 2G:

  1. Access the phone’s “Settings” menu
  2. Scroll to “Wireless & Networks” and tap “More”
  3. Tap “Cellular networks” > “Preferred network type”
  4. Select “GSM only” / 2G

Minimize the Use of Third Party Apps:

NOTE: Some third party apps can affect your phone’s battery performance even when not in use, due to the fact that certain apps perform regular background processes. As such, by disabling or removing unused third party apps, you might be able to improve battery life.

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Tap “Apps”
  4. Go to the “Downloaded” tab and select the desired app
  5. Tap “Disable” to turn off the app
  6. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK” to remove the app

Turn Off Background Data:

  1. Open the “Settings” menu
  2. Tap “Data usage” > “Menu”
  3. Tap “Restrict background data”
  4. Tap “OK” to confirm

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By setting your account(s) to sync less data, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. First, open the apps drawer
  2. Next, go to “Settings”
  3. Tap “Accounts” > “menu”
  4. Disable “Auto-sync data”
  5. In addition, you can tap an account and disable more sync options as desired

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: Software updates can include improvements to battery life, thus it’s recommended to keep your OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

  1. Open the “Settings” menu
  2. Scroll to “About phone” and tap “System updates”
  3. Tap “Check for updates”
  4. If an update is available, follow the on-screen steps to download and apply it
