Is my lg 1400 defective?

I have the phone for problably a month and this started to happen today. When I try to take a picture with it there is this line of pixel on top of the screen in camera mode which i can't seem to get rid of. Then I think there are 2 or 3 old pictures in my phone is defective or something cuz whenever i go to my gallery it keeps saying decoding error. Sometimes when I try to view my miss calls it keeps saying reading SIM. I tried taking the SIM off and taking the battery off, it doesn't seem to do anything.

Bring it back to where you bought it
They'll replace this (obviously broken) phone with a new one!

I had the same problem with my phone...about 4 days after I got it there was a large purple box at the top of the camera. Where the zoom/brightness display usually is ... I took it back to Cingular and they replaced it free
