    The new clam shell is the vx 8100 and the new candy bar with the QWERTY keyboard is the vx 9800

    the 8100 opens like any other phone, but, I think the one you are talking about is the 9800. It opens from the side to reveal a very nice screen and full qwerty keyboard as cricket metioned above.
