Flashing red light on my charging base?

Exactly what does this mean? My phone(VX6000) all of a sudden wont turn on unless its on the charging base. I am using an extended battery that is only 4 months old and was working fine until last night. The contacts look clean and I know there is no moisture as the indicator is still red/white(not pink).

I have had this problem with one of my two charging bases. I have two LG V4500's that every now and then when placed on this particular base will have the base led start flashing Red. It has usually been a situation of not making good contact with the contacts. Make sure you are snapping the phone down into the charger. Do not slide it in from the rear opening
