Sorry for length!

Like you, I too wanted to use the 8300 as my primary mp3 player. That should be easy right? Aside from having to use an external memory card, the biggest problem is the headset output. So you can use a 2.5mm stereo headset (with mic button), but what if you want to use 3.5mm stereo headphones (or the like)? You need an adapter right? None of this is new information, I know. PLEASE READ ON!
As for adapters...
1. The 2.5mm to 3.5mm stereo headphone adapter from RadioShack DOES NOT WORK (it comes out in mono)!
2. You can purchase an adapter from Verizon (or on ebay) to plug in any 3.5mm stereo headphones and still use them with the mic button function.
3. If you do not want the mic button function, then you need a 2.5mm headset (4-conductor) to 3.5mm stereo (3-conductor) adapter.
Unfortunately there are two options...but you have to know the headset plug wiring in order to get the right one. On ebay I have found 2. One is wired (starting at tip) null, left, right, ground. The other is wired (starting at tip) left, right, null, ground. [For ebay listing search "cellphone headphone adapter b & c"]
Here is my question:
Does anyone know how the 8300 headset jack (or plug) is wired? Is it (starting at tip) null, right, left, ground? Or is it (starting at tip) right, left, null, ground? I have tried testing the phone output (and a 2.5mm stereo headset, w/mic button) but have not come up with anything conclusive. I called LG and they said that they didn't know (I find this hard to believe).
Thank you kindly for your time and your help!
This will allow me (and future 8300 users) to purchase the correct adapter without all the hassel.
