Mobile IM contacts problem

On Mobile IM, only 3 of my AIM contacts are visible as online or offline. I cannot see any of my other contacts. If I log into AIM on my computer I can see all 30 contacts, but not on my phone? Does anyone know why this might be?

Many of your contacts may have a setting selected that will not allow mobile devices to see them. Of approximately 80 or so contacts on my AOL buddy list, I can only see about 10 on my phone.
