Backing Up Data
Backing Up Apps and Contacts Using LG Backup:
- While viewing the home screen, press the "All apps" icon
- Open "LG Backup"
- Assuming that this is the first time launching the app, review the instructions, the EULA and tap "Agree"
- Tap "Manual backup" and select a backup location
- Tap "Next"
- Press "New backup". NOTE: to replace an existing backup file, choose "Overwrite"
- Type in a name for the backup file and then tap "Next"
- Mark the check boxes associated with what type of data you wish to back up, such as "Personal data", "LG Apps", "Downloaded apps" etc
- Tap "Backup" and confirm by pressing "OK"
Backing up Media Files to a Computer:
- Use the USB cable to establish a connection between your smartphone and PC
- Tap "Media sync (MTP)" when prompted
- In the AutoPlay window on your computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
- Access the phone's storage and navigate to where the desired media files are
- Copy the files and then paste them in the desired backup location on your computer
- Once the file transfer is complete, click "Safely Remove Hardware" from the system tray
- Click "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" > "OK"
- You can now disconnect your smartphone
Restoring Data
Restoring Applications and Contacts:
- While viewing the home screen, tap the "Apps" icon
- Tap "Backup" > "Restore"
- Select the backup file and tap "Restore"
- A warning pop-up should appear. Review it and tap "Yes" to confirm
- Your smartphone will now restart
Restoring Media Files from a Computer:
- Connect your smartphone to your PC via USB
- When prompted, tap "Media sync (MTP)"
- In the "AutoPlay" window on your computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
- Navigate to where the files are backed up on your desktop PC
- Copy the files, navigate to your phone's storage and paste the files in the desired folder
- After the files have been copied, click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the system tray, followed by "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" > "OK"
- You're all done. Disconnect your smartphone
