Backing Up Data

Backing Up Apps and Contacts Using LG Backup:

  1. While viewing the home screen, press the "All apps" icon
  2. Open "LG Backup"
  3. Assuming that this is the first time launching the app, review the instructions, the EULA and tap "Agree"
  4. Tap "Manual backup" and select a backup location
  5. Tap "Next"
  6. Press "New backup". NOTE: to replace an existing backup file, choose "Overwrite"
  7. Type in a name for the backup file and then tap "Next"
  8. Mark the check boxes associated with what type of data you wish to back up, such as "Personal data", "LG Apps", "Downloaded apps" etc
  9. Tap "Backup" and confirm by pressing "OK"

Backing up Media Files to a Computer:

  1. Use the USB cable to establish a connection between your smartphone and PC
  2. Tap "Media sync (MTP)" when prompted
  3. In the AutoPlay window on your computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
  4. Access the phone's storage and navigate to where the desired media files are
  5. Copy the files and then paste them in the desired backup location on your computer
  6. Once the file transfer is complete, click "Safely Remove Hardware" from the system tray
  7. Click "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" > "OK"
  8. You can now disconnect your smartphone

Restoring Data

Restoring Applications and Contacts:

  1. While viewing the home screen, tap the "Apps" icon
  2. Tap "Backup" > "Restore"
  3. Select the backup file and tap "Restore"
  4. A warning pop-up should appear. Review it and tap "Yes" to confirm
  5. Your smartphone will now restart

Restoring Media Files from a Computer:

  1. Connect your smartphone to your PC via USB
  2. When prompted, tap "Media sync (MTP)"
  3. In the "AutoPlay" window on your computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
  4. Navigate to where the files are backed up on your desktop PC
  5. Copy the files, navigate to your phone's storage and paste the files in the desired folder
  6. After the files have been copied, click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the system tray, followed by "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" > "OK"
  7. You're all done. Disconnect your smartphone
