Enabling and Managing Battery Saving Mode:

  1. From the home screen, press the "Menu" button
  2. Tap "System settings"
  3. Tap "Battery" under "Device"
  4. Tap "Power saver" and tap the switch associated with it to set it to "ON"
  5. Select the battery percentage at which the power saver turns on
  6. Mark or clear the check boxes associated with the features that you wish to be enabled / disabled during power saver:
    • Auto-sync
    • Wi-Fi
    • Bluetooth
    • Vibrate on touch
    • Brightness
    • Screen timeout
    • Front key light
  7. You can access more options by tapping the "Settings" icon

Adjusting the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

A smartphone's display is one of the most power-consuming components. As such, you can greatly improve battery life by decreasing the screen brightness and timeout duration.

  1. While on a home screen, press the "Menu" button
  2. Tap "System settings"
  3. Under "Device", tap "Display"
  4. Tap "Brightness" and drag the slider to a lower level
  5. Tap "OK" > "Screen timeout"
  6. Choose a lower timeout value, such as "30 seconds"

Disabling Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot and GPS:

A smartphone's connectivity features are very demanding on the battery, especially GPS. Wi-Fi can also decrease battery life when left enabled while not in use, because the phone will continue to scan for networks. It's highly advised that you disable all connectivity features when not in use.

  1. Press "Menu" while viewing a home screen
  2. Tap "System settings" > "Tethering & Networks"
  3. Tap "Mobile HotSpot"
  4. Clear the check box next to "Mobile HotSpot"
  5. Press "Back" twice to return to the "Settings" menu
  6. Scroll to "Personal" and tap "Location access"
  7. Clear the check box next to "GPS satellites"
  8. Return to the home screen and swipe the "Status" bar down
  9. Tap the "Wi-Fi" and "Bluetooth" icons to disable these features

Disabling Background Data:

  1. Press "Menu" while on a home screen
  2. Tap "System settings" > "Mobile data"
  3. Press the "Menu" button and mark the "Restrict background data" check box

Changing the Sync Settings of Applications:

  1. From any home screen, press "Menu"
  2. Tap "System settings" and go to "Personal"
  3. Tap "Account & sync" and clear the check box next to "Auto-sync data"
  4. Select an application to reduce the sync interval for each app individually

Minimizing Use of Third Party Apps:

  1. Press "Menu" on the home screen and tap "System settings"
  2. Tap "Apps" under "Device"
  3. Select the desired application
  4. Tap "Disable" to turn the app off. Alternatively, you can tap "Uninstall" to completely remove the app

Switching from 4G to 2G Connectivity:

  1. Press "Menu" while viewing a home screen
  2. Tap "System settings" > "Tethering & Networks"
  3. Go to "Mobile networks" and mark the "Use only 2G networks" check box

Applying the Latest Software Update:

NOTE: unless LG has launched a new software update that improves battery life, following the steps below will have no effect on your phone's battery performance.

  1. From any home screen, press "Menu"
  2. Tap "System settings"
  3. Scroll to "System" and tap "About phone"
  4. Tap "System updates" > "Check now"
  5. If an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions in order to download and apply it
