NOTE: rebooting your smartphone in safe mode allows you to remove applications that may have a malicious behavior and prevent you from uninstalling them. In safe mode, all third party applications are disabled.

Enabling Safe Mode:

  1. With the smartphone turned on, press and hold the "Power" button
  2. On the screen, tap and hold "Power off"
  3. In the "Reboot to safe mode" screen, review the information and tap "OK" to confirm
  4. Your smartphone will now reboot, and a "Safe mode" note should be present in the bottom-left corner of the screen

Uninstalling a Third Party App in Safe Mode:

  1. From the home screen, press the "Menu" key
  2. Tap "System settings"
  3. Under "Device", tap "Apps"
  4. Swipe to the "All" or "Downloaded" screen
  5. Select the app that you wish to remove
  6. Tap "Uninstall" and confirm by pressing "OK"

Exiting Safe Mode:

  1. Press and hold the "Power" button
  2. Tap "Power off and restart"
  3. Tap "OK" to confirm
