Re: LG Ultimate 2: Transfer and Set Custom Ringtones & Notifications
nope. I took my memory card from my lg840 and put it into this one. it had all my ring tones on it. When selecting ring tones, they never even showed up.
So I converted them over to OOG format and wala. They showed up.
So I answered my own question. The ring tones have to be in OOG format.

Re: LG Ultimate 2: Transfer and Set Custom Ringtones & Notifications
I find that very strange to be honest... Even the official user manual for the LG Ultimate 2 says that "There is no file size limitation" for using "an MP3 file as a ringtone".
With that in mind I can assume that:
1. The MP3 files stored on the SD card and originally used on the Lg840 may have been somehow corrupted
or
2. The information provided officially by LG is incorrect.
Either way I'm glad you were able to find a fix Thanks for sharing the info!

Re: LG Ultimate 2: Transfer and Set Custom Ringtones & Notifications
Ya know, I just thought of something..
I took that memory card out of the LG840 , and put it into the Ultimate.. I wonder, If I had transfered the files to my Desktop, then had the new phone format the memory card, then transfered the files, would it have then recognized them?
I mean, The MP3 files were in the same folder as the OOG files.. and yet they were not seen as available as a ring tone. Or is there some software switch I needed to check to use the MP3 files??
I found the owners manual a bit lacking of critical information.. but since I bought my first android tablet last June, I am someone familiar with their operation, and i used that knowledge to personalize my phone. I even accidentally found the widget page that let me set up a page for direct (speed) dialing. Love this new phone.Last edited by Macwildstar; 06-09-2015 at 10:08 AM.
