Clearing an App’s Cache or Data:

NOTE: If one of your third party applications doesn’t work as intended you might be able to fix this behavior by wiping the app’s cache or data.

WARNING! Clearing an app’s data will result in the deletion of all the personal information stored within the app, including saved games, profiles, credit card information etc. As such it’s recommended to try fixing these issues by first clearing the apps cache.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Access the “General” tab
  4. Tap “Apps” under “Phone Management”
  5. Swipe to “All” and select the desired application
  6. Tap “Clear cache”
  7. If necessary, tap “Clear data” too and press “Yes” to confirm

Wipe the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone isn’t working as intended and you are considering master resetting it, then you might want to try and clear the phone’s cache partition before doing so. By wiping the cache you can solve various issues that would normally be fixed after a master reset, without losing any actual personal data in the process.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Access the “General” tab
  4. Swipe to “Phone Management”
  5. Tap “Storage” and wait for the menu to finish calculating
  6. Tap “Cached data” > “Yes”
  7. Wait for the cached data to be wiped. Depending on the amount of cached data, this process may take seconds or minutes
  8. After the process is done, when you enter the “Storage” menu again, you should no longer see any cached data (or there will be a very small amount)

Enable Safe Mode:

NOTE: If you have installed a third party application that causes problems on your phone and prevents you from uninstalling it, then you should be able to easily dispose of it by first rebooting the phone in Safe Mode. In this mode all third party applications are disabled.

  1. With the smartphone turned on, press and hold “Power”
  2. In the pop-up menu, tap and hold the “Power off” option
  3. At the “Restart in safe mode” prompt, tap “OK” to confirm
  4. Your phone should now reboot and display a “Safe mode” label in the lower-left corner of the screen
  5. To remove an app in safe mode, tap “Apps” and go to “Settings”
  6. Access the “General" tab
  7. Swipe to “Phone management” and tap “Apps”
  8. Go to the “Downloaded” screen and select the desired app
  9. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
  10. To exit safe mode just press and hold the “Power” button and reboot your phone as you normally would
