Clear an Apps Cache / Data:
NOTE: In case one of your third party apps doesnt work properly then you might be able to solve these issues by clearing the apps cache or data.
WARNING! Its recommended to first clear the apps cache. Clearing the apps data will result in the deletion of all personal info stored within the application, including profiles, saved games, credit card information etc. Clearing the cache will not affect your personal data.
- Tap Apps while viewing the home screen
- Access the Settings menu
- Go to the General tab
- Under Phone Management tap Apps
- Swipe to All and select the desired app
- Tap Clear cache
- If clearing the cache did not solve the problem, tap Clear data > Yes
Wipe the Phones Cache Partition:
NOTE: In case your phone doesnt work properly, (crashes, freezes, low performance, low storage etc.) then you might be able to fix these problems by clearing the cache partition. This can have a similar effect as a factory reset, without losing all personal data on the phones internal memory.
- Go to the phones Settings menu
- Tap the General tab
- Scroll to Phone Management and tap Storage
- Wait for the phone to finish calculating the data
- Tap Clear data > yes
- After the phone cache is cleared, you should no longer see any cached data in the Storage screen (or at least there will be a small amount of cached data)
NOTE: If clearing the cache did not help, you can try factory resetting your phone instead. Head down to this thread for a full guide on master resetting the LG Tribute 2.
Enter Safe Mode:
NOTE: Safe Mode can be very useful in scenarios where a third party app prevents you from uninstalling it. In Safe Mode all third party apps are disabled, and whatever process was keeping them from closing will no longer run.
- From the home screen, press and hold Power
- From the pop-up menu, tap and hold Power off
- When you are prompted with Restart in safe mode, tap OK
- Wait for your phone to reboot and you should see a Safe Mode label in the lower-left corner of the screen
- To remove the desired app, go to the Settings menu
- Tap the General tab and under Phone Management, tap Apps
- Swipe to Downloaded and select the desired application
- Tap Uninstall > OK
- To exit safe mode, press and hold Power and simply restart your device as you normally would
